WHO WE ARE
The Spirit of Africa Festival plans to grow into a top-level international annual gathering that attracts visitors from around South Africa and the continent – becoming the “go-to” conscious living event on the African calendar!
The festival is a collaboration between the School of Intuition and Healing, South Africa (which teaches courses and workshops in healing, mindfulness, intuitive development and art, among others) and The 8 O’Clock Club (a weekly public event hosting high calibre speakers).
Our passionate team have diverse backgrounds: Cindy Holmes is Director of the School of Intuition & Healing (South Africa) and an international hospitality consultant, Penny Gaines is a journalist, videographer and manager of The 8 O’Clock Club, Claire Creighton is a shamanic practitioner and spiritual teacher, Mpharu Hloyi is a spiritual scientist, and Leah De Vos is a brand communications consultant.
Focusing on mind, body and spirit, the Spirit of Africa Festival celebrates the amazing energy of the African continent. This annual festival, based in Cape Town, creates an informative, playful and creative healing space that brings together like-minded individuals – beyond diversity and differences.
The Spirit of Africa Festival is a platform to educate, enlighten, encourage and entertain visitors through workshops, talks and panel discussions on self development and conscious lifestyle topics. The festival also provides a Marketplace for local entrepreneurs of conscious-minded products, an area for alternative therapies and a space for demonstrations, music and dance – as well as a food court with fresh, wholesome foods. Through the Spirit of Africa Festival, we aim to promote a consciousness of One-ness with each other and the planet that we hope will contribute toward health and healing for all our communities.
